A spending firewall for AI agents.

x402 gives agents a way to pay. Bounded gives owners a way to say no: a ceiling you set, enforced by a contract, even when the AI is tricked.

The problem

Today you choose: hand funds to a custodian, or give the agent your full keys.

Hand your funds to a custodian

You get convenience. Your money sits in someone else's system.

Give the agent your full keys

You keep custody. There's no ceiling on what a hacked or confused AI can lose.

The idea

AI proposes. You authorize. The contract enforces.

  1. Step 1
    AI proposes

The agent sends a strict, structured proposal. It never holds your keys.

  2. Step 2
    You authorize

You set limits, allowlists and expiry in advance, and approve anything over a limit.

  3. Step 3
    Contract enforces

A public contract checks every proposal. Out-of-bounds spends never move.

Four tiers

Every proposal gets exactly one decision.

  • Auto

Within your limits and sent to an approved destination. Executes instantly.

  • Ask

Valid destination, but over a limit. You approve or reject on your phone.

  • Block

Breaks a rule. Nothing moves, and the reason is recorded.

  • Circuit breaker

Too many blocked attempts in a short window. The agent is frozen automatically.

See it

We can't stop an AI from being tricked. So we make being tricked harmless.

The agent can only propose. The contract decides.

    Where it fits

x402 is how an agent pays. Bounded decides whether it's allowed to.

    1. Layer 1
      Agent

Any AI. Untrusted. Can only propose.

    2. Layer 2
      Bounded

Who may spend, and how much. Enforced by the contract.

    3. Layer 3
      Wallet

The vault holds the funds you own.

    4. Layer 4
      Rails

x402, transfers, DeFi. How money actually moves.

    Who it's for

Built for people already running agents with real funds.

    Primary

Developers and teams whose agents pay for APIs and data one request at a time (x402-style payments), and anyone giving an agent a capped allowance.

    Secondary

Platforms and agent builders who embed Bounded as a trust layer.

    Not for

People content to leave funds on an exchange.

    Pricing

The contract is free. Everything else is a hypothesis.

Hypothesis — to be tested in the pilot.

    Honest limits

We cap losses; we don't promise profits or a smarter AI.

Bounded caps losses. It doesn't promise profits, and it doesn't make the AI smarter.
